Answer: 3 so far...
Anthony was an amazing young man who did a wonderful job
Great place to get a quality install on your car. If you can't drive to the shop they will come to you!!! All of the employees I've met there are top notch.
Tech named Anthony did a home visit to replace my Jeep Windshield. I know the field of glass repair, he done an excellent job, removing, prepping, and setting the new glass. Took care in what he was doing. Thanks!
Called Safelite to have a chip in my windshield repaired. The service tech came to repair but warned that the chip might not be repairable. He offered to try to fix it but less than 5 mins the tech had shattered the window. He then made an appointment to replace the window the next day. The next day came and I received a phone call at 8am saying a different tech will be there between 3-4pm. 2pm came and I received a text stating the tech was in route. At 430pm the 2nd tech called and said he was just then in route. I had mentioned that the vehicle is used for commercial purposes and it needed to leave by 530pm. The tech ensured me he would have plenty of time to do the job right. He did complete the job by 520pm. The next day while driving 500 miles on the interstate we heard a loud whistle. To our surprise the window was not sealed correctly. Called the 800# to inform them of the problem and they scheduled the repair the next morning at their facility. The 3rd tech now on the window says we have looked for the leak and can't find it. We can pull the window and reset it. Unfortunately timing is key and i informed the tect that this van only had a 2hr window to be repaired. The tech went to the manager to confirm this could be done in this window. Let's just say when I talked to Michael the store manager after that he was less than professional and could use some skills training on how to communicate effectively. I then called the 800# to try and schedule another time and to this minute our vehicle is yet to be fixed.
I dont think they deserve even one star. My first apppointment the guy showed up like 3 hours before i was told he was supposed to and i missed him. The second appointment they took the windshield out but wouldnt put the new one in because of a little surface rust. So when it was ready for the new glass another tech showed up and "completed" the install. There was an issue with my rubber stripping that was according to him "a problem with the car" but theres access glue peaking out in the spot where the rubber didnt seat and its even out onto the glass. He left me to mess with the spot after he left and when i tried to get the spot to seat, i caused a stress crack in the glass. That now has come clean over almost to the driver. I called and talked to multiple people but obviously since the crack happened to me, its not covered by any sort of warranty. Best they can do is give me a discount on another windshield, i paid $240 out of pocket for a new windshield and the tech didnt finish his job, left it for me to mess with and it caused a problem they don't want to fix now. I guess its okay for a company to have employees who dont finish their job and leave it for me. He also had to come back later that day because he didnt reinstall my windshield wiper arms. Thats when i showed him what happened and he said to me "awh man that sucks, but i cant take a hit for you because i broke a truck window yesterday" seriously safelite? Train your people right and actually take care of your customers if you plan to be a serious company. Extremely misleading advertisments and a horrible esperience. Never coming back and telling everyone i know to stay away from safelite. If you dont want to acknowledge the problem and help me out then you will loose buisness in my area. Not recommending you to anybody.
Moral: be leary of these local untrained techs
My questions is: How many Safelite techs does it take to fix and/or repair a window?
